Thanks to the technology that makes it possible to pick any location to work, we have followed our hearts. The Colorado Plateau, specifically the little town of Moab, is our inspirational southeast Utah home. Moab is a beautiful gem surrounded by national parks, places that look like they should be national parks, and endless landscapes to explore. We have come to love Moab as a home that has everything we could wish for, and allows us to pursue life as a satisfying mix of work, play, and making play of work. With so much to explore, events to attend, and ways to give back to this great community, we know that it will take a lifetime to scratch the surface.
It takes vigilance to get in as much time as possible to relax and to get re-inspired. One way for me is with hand-made creativity.
I need to “make” my hands, and spend rare, available moments creating one-of-a-kind little “thrones” from the caps of champagne, prosecco and cava bottles. Hand-building and throwing pottery is a long-time passion I intend to start again once the new studio is done! Getting elbow deep in our vegetable garden, and stocking our shelves with jars of wonderful fruits, jams and salsas make for warm winters. Getting muddy with clay or full of red sand and soil from the surrounding desert makes for a suitable counterpart to graphic design work on my computer.
We live well and work hard, but he best times are when family and friends come from far away places to enjoy the desert with us.
